Technology for the Educator

My last post Deeyoon, was about a new type of software that combined two video streams to create an online debate center. After the posting I was contacted by a reader asking me to check out another debate software called MeeVSU, thank you Alex for the recommendation. I initially rejected the idea because the site was in Portuguese, but Alex pointed out the English version. Upon review of the site, I was impressed.

MeeVSU is still in Beta, but it promises to be a great tool for online debates and the classroom. The thing I was most impressed with was the options for creating a debate. You have a lot of control over the debate structure and time, plus the ability to invite opponents and set event dates.  Even with these options it is not overly complicated to use.

Overall this product looks promising. The major thing lacking, at this time, is the ability to record the debate. After speaking with the CEO I was assured that feature was due for release within a few days. This start-up company is one to watch. Check it out at http://meevsu.com/ (The English version can be accessed at the top right of the screen.)
