I have a new tool to share with you today, Deeyoon.  It is an online web 2.0 platform that allows you to participate in live debates. You can easily create your own or watch and vote on others.

I can see real potential for this in a classroom. Debates can last from 1 to 10 minutes. The screen displays two videos with a timer in the center. Each speaker is timed as they present their view on the topic. Viewers can vote and see a tally of other voters or make comments.

I found it simple to use. Although there may be other drawbacks my biggest concern was the fact that I had to log in through Facebook. Check it out at http://www.deeyoon.com/dashboard/

  1. I would strongly suggest the authors of the article to take a look at Meevsu.com. Meevsu is, today, the only platform capable of turning a video chat discussion into a serious, organized and structured debate. Why can I assure that? Just take a look on this http://meevsu.tumblr.com/post/32948285271/meevsu-vs-deeyoon-who-wins-let-the-arguments-begin

    • Alex, thanks for bringing this to my attention. Unfortunately it looks like Meevsu is not in English, which is a limitation for my readers. Sorry, if you get an English version please let me know. Thanks

      • Hello Doctor, I’m sorry if we pass the wrong impression, but actually our site has an English version too. Probably we have a usability problem, but in the upper left corner we have the banners to exchange language.
